Koronadal City—Provincial Health Officer Rogelio Aturdido observed that the public started to be complacent as there was a downpour of people in malls, markets, and other strategic places these holidays.
“We expect that we experience another COVID 19 surge on January to March if the public discontinue to follow simple health protocols,” the provincial health officer warned.
He reiterated that South Cotabato is still not COVID free.
Despite the decreasing number of COVID 19-related disease in South Cotabato, he told the public to celebrate New Year with fun and excitement and “avoid 3Cs.”
Aturdido recommended to keep away from Closed Area, Crowded Setting and Close Contact. These reminders, he stressed out, slowed down the spread of the virus.
“In 24 samples recently, only two tested positive,” Aturdido announced.
Let the cold air enter homes to have COVID-free New Year, he added.
