A total of 12,876 Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) were served by South Cotabato Province from May to December 2020 as part of its Balik Sundo South Cotabato Program.
Provincial Tourism Officer Senior Tourism Operations Officer Argie Ryan Asaria revealed during the annual meeting of the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Development and Promotions Unit today (January 7) that 4,585 of them were ROFs while 8,291 were LSIs.
Expenses incurred during 7-month period, Asaria added, reached Php 9,174,126.33, consisting of van and bus rentals, not including expenses for meals and snacks, bottled water and other miscellaneous expenses.
For 2021, South Cotabato allocated an initial Php 1 million for the first quarter of the year for the said program.
