2 Davao City-based Dance Groups in a 1—2 finish in the Mindanao-wide Hip-hop Dance Competition

EMNT Dance Group of Davao City won the Mindanao-wide Hip-hop Dance Competition organized by Ground Zero Dance Group, a member of the Dance Sector under the supervision of the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Unit last February 25 held at the South Cotabato Gymnasiyum and Cultural Center.

EMNT and another Davao City-based dance group “Comrades” won first and second place that earned tthem P15,000 and P8,000 cash incentive, respectively, plus  plaque and certificate each.

 Tacurong City’s “Coalition” dance group meanwhile landed third place garnering P5,000 cash incentive with plaque and certificate.

Likewise, consolation prizes were awarded to Space Bar of General Santos City and Area 9504 of Polomolok, South Cotabato with each receiving P2,000 cash incentive plus certificate.

A total of 15 dance groups coming from Polomolok in South Cotabato, General Santos City, Davao City, and Tacurong City, Lebak and Kalamansig in Sultan Kudarat joined the Ground Zero-sponsored hip-hop dance contest which is celebrating their 17th foundation anniversary.

test judges were Mork Jemwel Gojo Cruz, leader, choreographer of Manila-based dance group Kenyo Street, James Venegas, Ground Zero Senior Choreographer and James Bartolo, Ground Zero Choreographer.
