261 South Cotabateños to get livelihood grants

South Cotabato, Koronadal City- Two hundred sixty one low income individuals are set to benefit from Dole Integrated Livelihood Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) through the Public Employment Service Office(PESO) in South Cotabato.

Department of Trade and Industry Christian Joy Bansuan, Senior Business Counsellor, spearheaded the Entrepreneurial Mind Setting cum Financial Literacy among the beneficiaries. Beneficiaries were composed of individuals from municipalities and lone city of South Cotabato.

The orientation aimed to give a proper knowledge in starting a small business.

Meanwhile, the program is focused in helping low-income individuals, reducing poverty in communities of South Cotabato.

The livelihood includes auto mechanic, carenderia, barber shop, beads making, beauty parlor, blacksmith, electronic repair, hallow blocks making, manicure-pedicure, painting, battery making and vegetable production.

Beneficiaries are expected to receive the business starter kits on the 3rd week or 4th week of February.

However, PESO is still waiting for other supplies. They also promised to keep the beneficiaries updated.

DILEEP seeks to contribute to poverty reduction and reduce vulnerability to risks of the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized workers through emergency employment and promotion of entrepreneurship and community enterprises.

It is the DOLE’s contribution to the governments’ agenda of inclusive growth through massive job generation throughout the country.
