275K visitors flock to South Cotabato from Jan-Feb ‘23

Some 275,768 tourists visited South Cotabato for the first 2 months of 2023, the Arts, Culture, Tourism & Museum Unit (ACTMU)  reported.

          Richie Matunding, ACTMU Statistician disclosed that 141,719 visitors were recorded in January while February recorded 134,029 visitors.

          Lake Sebu is still the February top tourist destination with 63,515 visitors; last January it rregistered 62,887.  

          Breakdown of the February arrivals per LGU are as follows: Banga – 17,814, City of Koronadal – 16,057, Polomolok – 7,763,  Sto. Nino – 725, Surallah – 10,044 T’boli – 1,276  and Tupl . 16,845.

Last January, City of Koronadal reported 6,332 arrivals, Polomolok – 2,912,  Surallah – 16,592 Tampakan – 1,641, T’boli- 2,175 and Tupi – 26,414.  

Norala, Tampakan and Tantangan have not submitted their arrivals report for the month of February, according to ACTMU

          Foreign nationals that visited South Cotabato for the month of February meanwhile totaled 70, with Americans as top patronizer at 40 followed by Chinese – 8 and Japanese – 6,.

          Other foreign visitors were Canadians – 3, Australians – 3 South Koreans – 2, Dutch – 2, British – 2, Austrian – 1, Malaysian – 1, German – 1.
