On the 11th day of the Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio or synchronized mass Oral Polio Vaccination (mOPV) campaign, South Cotabato finally reached the 95% target set by the Department of Health (DOH) for the mOPV in Manila and Mindanao.
South Cotabato registered 94.65% or equivalent to 108,633 targeted children 0-59 months old on January 29 as compiled by the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), but today (January 30) the figure rose to 95.70%% or equivalent to 109,843 children subjected to mOPV.
The accomplishment of the LGUs are as follows:Banga-10,443 (99.16%), City of Koronadal – 21,500 (98.01), Lake Sebu – 10,130 (92.39%), Norala – 5,895 (100.79%), Polomolok – 17,120 (89.47%), Sto. Nino – 5,110 (99.52%), Surallah – 10,420 (98.29%), Tampakan – 4,822 (97.29%), Tantangan – 4,794 (88.41%), T’boli – 11,300 (98.54%), Tupi – 8,309 (94.69%).
LGUs who have not reached the target have only until February 2, which is the last day of the OPV activity to accomplished the target which DOH set to acquire “herd immunity” on the target population.
Last ear, South Cotabato only registered 93.79% or equivalent to 107,647 targeted children.
The SPKP-mOPV will resume on February 17 – March 2 and March 23 – April 4, according to IPHO.
