DA-12 turns-over Php8 Million worth of post-harvest facilities and machineries  to SouthCot

The Department of Agriculture Region 12 formally turns-over the Php8 million worth of post-harvest facilities and machinery to the Provincial Government of South Cotabato through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist.

Earlier, a dedication of post-harvest facilities and machinery was conducted at the Provincial Scion Grove, Nursery, and Demonstration Farm at Brgy. Reyes, Banga town.

Provincial Agriculturist Raul Teves formally received from  DA-12 Regional Director  Alan M. Mangelen the following facilities:

Under the Rice Program

1.Ten (10( units Hand Tractor    Php1.35 million

  1. Ten (10) units rice thresher Php1.285 million
  2. Twenty (20) units  Seed Spreader Php 1.436 million
  3. Four (4) units Shallow Tube wells Php419,864.00
  4. Ten (10) units Rice Transplanter Php1.9 million

Under High-Value Crop Development Program (HVCDP)

  1. Two (2) units Shallow Tube Wells (STW)  Php200,000
  2. Fifty (50) Units garden tools Php250,000
  3. Three (3) rolls  (1×60) HDPE Pipes Php6,094.74
  4. Seven (7) rolls (2×60) HDPE Pipes  Php55,097

These post-harvest facilities and machinery have a total amount of Php6.9 million while the remaining facility is set to be delivered. RD Mangelen disclosed that aside from these facilities, the province is also a recipient of another Rice Tractor worth Php3 million.

“Ito ay para magkaroon an gating magsasaka ng masaganang ani at malaking kita.” He said,

The OPAG plans to put up an agriculture motorpool within the demo farm so that these facilities will be put in place.

Teves said farmers can avail of these facilities upon request and free of charge including fuel.

He added, there are no definite beneficiaries yet for the said facilities as target farmer associations will undergo validation to avail of the program.

Also present during the occasion include Executive Assistant, Mr. Rudy Jimenea; Boardmember  Noel Escobillo, SP Chairperson Committee on Agriculture; Department Heads, media, and provincial employees.
