KORONADAL, SOUTH COTABATO- The Provincial Government of South Cotabato through the office of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) personally deliveredcash and in-kind assistance to the typhoon affected areas in Luzon particularly in the Provinces of Isabela and Cagayan, both located in the Cagayan Valley Region.
Through the collaborative efforts of the people of South Cotabato, the initiative of individual partners, and the help of private sectors, the provincial government was able to gather tons of goods despite the short notice.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. immediately mandated his staff to prepare food packs and other non-food items as additionalassistance to the victims.
Meanwhile, the team successfully handed over the donations to the two (2) provinces in Luzon:
Here is the list of relief goods for the Province of Isabela:
- Food packs-870 pcs
- Face shield-100 PC’s
- Hygiene kits-4 sacks
- Assorted used clothing-200 sacks
- Noodles-10 cases
- Face mask-7 boxes
- Diapers-20 packs
- Bottled water-10 cases
- Cheque amounting to 50,000 pesos
For the Province of Cagayan:
- Malong- 40.boxes
- Sardines-11 cases
- Hygiene kits-22 boxes
- Assorted used clothing-100 sacks
- Noodles-15 cases
- Cheque amounting to 50,000 pesos
Cagayan Governor Manuel N. Mamba. and PDRRMO Isabela PBGEN. (retired) Jimmy Rivera and PSWDO Lucila M. Ambatas personally received the donations from the team who traveled by land from South Cotabato.
“Maraming salamat po sa people of South Cotabato, kay Governor Tamayo thank you po sa tulong niyo sa amin. I never really expected na hanggang dito napakalayo pinuntahan niyo pa kami dito. But really, we appreciate so much the love na pinadala niyo dito,”Governor Mamba stated.
To recall, the mentioned provinces have been devastated by the recent typhoons Rolly and Ulysses which caused massive floods, dismantling of houses, damaged properties, and loss of livelihood.
