Nat’l Arts Month celebration culminates with recognition ceremony, fashion show

CITY OF KORONADAL — The National Arts Month celebration in South Cotabato ended with a big bang with the Local Culture and Arts Council (LCAC) based here bestowing recognition to Maria Todi (K’na the Dreamweaver cultural consultant and translator), the Ani ng Sining (Tubas Taliambong) Award for 2021.

                    Todi, a resident of Tboli town in the province, was also one of the recipients of the prestigious 1st GADOR Awards in 2020 together with other esteemed artists in the country.

                    Aside from the recognition ceremony, the municipality of Tampakan led by First Lady Kia Escobillo, the Tourism Coordinator, turned over their published book on Cultural Asset Mapping which was the product  of the Cultural Asset Mapping training, field work and validation conducted by the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Development and Promotions Unit in said LGU a few months ago.

                    Earlier, the newly-formed South Cotabato Fashion Designers Guild likewise showcased their 17 wearable creations in a fashion show runway launched at the Mall of Ace Centerpoint entertainment area, this city.                   

                    The South Cotabato Family Rondala also performed rendition of popular songs before the opening of the NAM culmination program with the South Cotabato Chorale joining during the preliminaries.

                    First District Provincial Board Member Glyzel Mariano Trabado, SP Committee Chairperson on Arts, Culture and Tourism and ACTM head Senior Tourism Operations Officer Argie Ryan Asaria likewise graced the affair and rendered their respective message.
