Four towns in the Province of South Cotabato received funds to rehabilitate their public markets, Department of Interior and Local Government South Cotabato Program Manager Hayd-Ali Suwaib confirmed.
“The fund is from the Local Government Support Fund which finances local development and infrastructure projects,” Suwaib said.
In a turn-over ceremony, Tuesday, in Polomolok, DILG handed over the P5M-worth rehabilitated fruit section of Polomolok Public Market.
At least 50 stall owners benefitted the rehabilitation of the fruit section. These market vendors pay P1200 every month as a rental fee.
Last January, DILG also turned over a P7M-worth public market building in Sto. Nino.
The project was implemented by DILG and the Department of Public Works and Highways.
