Anti-Terrorism Council conducts Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 Caravan in South Cotabato

The Anti-Terrorism Council–Program Management Center (ATC-PMC ) under the Office of the President initiated an Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 (ATA2020) Caravan at the Provincial Capitol Compound earlier today.

No less than Undersecretary Camilo Pancratius P. Cascolan as the Executive Director of the ATC-PMC attended the said activity. Other attendees also include  BGEN Florentino Manalastas  Jr. (Ret) Director IV of ATC-PMC, PBGEN Rolando Distura, DRDA Pro 12, LtCol Zaldo Alvis of 6ID, among others.

Provincial Administrator Renette B. Bergado on behalf of the provincial government of South Cotabato headed by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. welcomed the participants and expressed her appreciation for making the Provincial Capitol the venue for the said activity in the province.

Said activity was participated by personnel from the Philippine National Police, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Department of Justice through blended learning using a virtual meeting platform and face-to-face or in-person method.

The caravan includes two sessions for the day.

Session 1 is on Information Dissemination which includes lectures on the Anti-Terrorism Landscape of the Philippines, the Salient Provisions of the ATA 2020, and the Guide for Law Enforcement Agent and Military Personnel in Implementing the ATA 2020 (Conduct of  Surveillance and Warrantless Arrest.

Session 2 is the Simulation Exercise on the Case Scenario on Warrantless Arrest.

ATC-PMC is a policy-making body from the Office of the President of the Philippines geared toward giving assistance to the Anti-Terrorism Council in fulfilling its mandates. The Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020 is the most recent effort to address the issue of terrorism and all allied activities, while at the same time ensuring the protection of our civil and political rights
