South Cotabato prepares for the establishment of consolidated farms

Preparations are underway for the establishment of consolidated farms in the province of South Cotabato as the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist is making rounds to all farmer groups and associations to disseminate information to fast-track its implementation.

The putting up of the consolidated farms is one of the priority programs of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. which is included in its three-year plan as the chief executive of the province.

This program aims to increase economic activities as well as the income of the farmers’ program.

The initial plan is to gather or pool at least 2000 hectares of farmlands from farmers for each commodity considered as high-value crops such as cacao, coffee, and pineapple, among others.

“This is in preparation for the coming of investors in our province”,  Governor Tamayo said,

He added the province should see to it that whenever there are investors coming in, South Cotabato should have something to offer them.
