455 rebels surrender in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY – A total of 455 members of the New People’s Army (NPA) have surrendered to the government under the administration of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr.

This achievement is the result of collaborative efforts between the provincial government, Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Philippine National Police, all of whom worked together to strengthen peace and order in the province.

The governor revealed that the province allocated a budget of P8.57 million for the implementation of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

The primary goal of this program is to provide reintegration support and livelihood assistance to the former rebels and to ensure the successful operation of the halfway house.

The Halfway House serves as a temporary shelter and processing center for the surrendered rebels. It plays a crucial role in their rehabilitation and reintegration process, offering various activities such as healing sessions, education, and skills training to help prepare them for a successful return to their communities.
