KORONADAL CITY – A simulation drill on Explosive Related Incidents (ERI) and other Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) was conducted today at Rizal Park as a final output of at least 45 participants who attended the 3-day training on Project Strengthening the Public Initiative against Catastrophic Events and Extremism (SPICEE) for the responders in the province of South Cotabato.
The Project SPICEE is a program designed to instill knowledge to the general public thru awareness of the existing threats post by the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs), Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) sympathizers, organized crime groups, and enhances the capability of the public in responding manmade and natural disaster thru mock Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) and Crisis Emergency Exercises (CEREX) to respond on Disaster-Related Incidents especially Explosive Related Incident (ERI).
The project framework is an interagency and multisector approach design to expand depending on the magnitude and the needs of the incident.
Participants of the training include personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine National Police, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the Provincial Security Unit, Emergency Medical Services and responders.
The activity was spearheaded by the PDRRMO with funding support coming from the 5% CF 2022 PDRRMF-IP.
