Koronadal City—The Provincial Hospital in South Cotabato is planning to conduct consultation day with specialist doctors in cancer and kidney as the hospital administration has also engaged the services of private medical practitioners as visiting physicians, consultants, and specialists, Dr. Conrado Brana, Provincial Hospital Chief, said in an interview.
“We are working out the schedule to have a consultation day so that people will visit because they know that the doctor, who specializes in cancer and kidney, is there to talk to,” Dr.Brana announced.
The hospital chief said he invited an oncologist to join the internal medicine unit as a visiting doctor. Under the memorandum of agreement, the private medical practitioner make use of the provincial hospital’s facilities, equipment, instruments, and manpower.
At present, the provincial hospital entered into an agreement with more specialists. In return, they shall actively participate in the hospital’s activities and share their expertise in rendering free services to patients admitted in any basic or ward accommodation, including a consultation day every week.
” We invited Dr. Noel Pingoy to join the team. He is willing to sit at the Outpatient Department to perform a consultation,” Brana said.
The visiting consultant is a specialist in cancer of all forms.
As an end-referral hospital, an average of 300 patients visited the outpatient department as referred by other nearby hospitals.
According to the record, most outpatients were bitten by stray dogs.
