CITY OF KORONADAL — The South Cotabato Community Museum (SCCM) [s currently undergoing renovation and will re-open on February 29 at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center, this city.
February is celebrated annually every month of February as National Arts Month (NAM) spearheaded by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). This year’s NAM theme is “Ani ng Sining Bayang Malikhain.”
South Cotabato Visual Artists Association President Danny Doce leads the Museum renovation with the assistance of the Provincial General Services Office (PGSO).
Doce disclosed that the SCCM will have Permanent and Feature or Temporary Sections. The Permanent Section will showcase existing displays, artifacts and archived objects, among others, while the Feature Section will have 2 Subsections, namely; the Monthly Municipality Feature and South Cotabato Visual Arts Exhibit.
Each of the 10 towns and lone city of the province will have the chance to showcase their rich culture for the general public to know and appreciate. The visual artists meanwhile will exhibit their works of art that will be shown on February 16 – 26 at the KCC Mall of Marbel Activity Center here .
