NORALA, SOUTH COTABATO- Different services availed by the residents through a community outreach program of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato lead by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. dubbed as “Tama kag Maayo nga Serbisyo para sa Katawhan,” at Brgy. Kibid, Norala.
Organized by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), this community outreach program is a regular initiative of the provincial government aimed at bridging the gap between government services and remote communities, ensuring accessibility to essential services for all constituents.
The primary objective of this program is to underscore the government’s commitment to delivering services tailored to the specific needs of the people, emphasizing accessibility and inclusivity.
A total of 1,716 beneficiaries were able to avail themselves of various free basic social services during the outreach program. These services included food distribution, with 346 individuals benefiting, haircut services attended by 70 individuals, massages provided to 34 individuals, and manicure and pedicure services utilized by 63 individuals. Additionally, 41 individuals benefited from shoe repair and tool sharpening services.
Furthermore, the outreach program encompassed veterinary services, with 5,299 animals dewormed, 4,818 animals receiving vitamins, and 4,777 animals administered antibiotics. Two dogs were vaccinated against rabies, while 377 dogs received treatment during the program. Moreover, 160 farmers received seedlings to support agricultural endeavors.
Medical services were also provided, with 136 patients receiving medical attention, 16 male adolescents availing themselves of circumcision services, 45 patients receiving dental care, and 165 individuals benefiting from pharmacy services.
The outreach program also featured a mass feeding program, which was availed by 550 individuals, along with entertainment activities such as live band performances and a raffle draw, adding a sense of community celebration to the event.
Through initiatives like these, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato reaffirms its commitment to reaching every corner of the province, ensuring that vital services and support are accessible to all residents, particularly those in remote areas.
