St. Alexius College sweeps Luto Kawayan contest

Koronadal City — St. Alexuis College swept the Luto Kawayan culinary arts contest during the re-launching of the Kawayan Festival this year, besting rivals in the Main Dish, Pastry and Side Dish categories.

Kristine Mae Olarte anchored her team in the Main Dish category, while fellow students Mae Joy Peroy and Jayson Dave Valdez, led in the Pastry and Side Dish categories, respectively, that gave St. Alexius College the clean sweep in the 3 categories of the cooking contest.

Other winners were Roce Dignadice pf Liling’s Binakol and Native Chicken of Brgy, Sarvia, this city, and International Cruise Ship College, Inc. as 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, in the Main Dish category.

The lone contender and 2nd place in the Pastry category went to Jedda Cesar of International Cruise Ship College Inc.

In the Side Dish category, the 2nd place winner is Agripina De Leon of De Leon’s Store and Gina Valencia of International Cruise Ship College Inc.

The prizes are follows; Main Dish – 1st Prize (P5,000.00), 2nd Prize (P3,500.00), 3rd Prize (P2,000.00), Consolation Prize (P500.00); Pastry – 1st Prize (P4,000.00), 2nd Prize (P2,500.00), 3rd Prize (P1,500.00), Consolation Prize (P500.00); Side Dish – 1st Prize (P3,000.00), 2nd Prize (P2,000.00), 3rd Prize (P1,000.00), Consolation Prize (P500.00).
