2 SouthCot NGOs receive DTI SSF projects

Two organizations in Lake Sebu were recipients of the Shared Service Facility or

SSF of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – South Cotabato Provincial Office.

DTI Provincial Director Flora Gabunales disclosed that the objective of the SSF is to provide machineries and equipment to qualified processors/manufacturers to increase their production capacities, improve product quality and reduce manufacturing costs.

Recipients of the SSF program were Cooperative of Women in Health and Development (COWHED) in Sitio Tuko-fol, Poblacion and Klowil Kem Kibun Organization Inc. (KKOI) in Lemkenidang Tablo, Lamdalag.

COWHED received machineries/equipment for their Loom Weaving and Brass Casting Project worth P189,606.00 last March 26.

It consisted of handloom equipment, air blower, bench grinder, brush and stainless steel table.

Likewise, KKOI’s machineries/equipment was received last March 27 for their T’boli Handloom Weaving Project.

The handloom equipment and electric high-speed sewing machine received amounted to P167,500.00.

Nenita Kinan, COWHED President and Bernadeth Ofong, KKOI President, were on hand to receive the machineries/equipment and gave their respective message of acceptance and commitment to sustain their livelihood projects.
