CITY OF KORONADAL — The much-awaited P5.1 million “pyro-clave” equipment that will be used to treat health care wastes generated by health care providers in the province has finally arrived here.
RAD Green Solutions Corp. delivered the 5-ton equipment in the Health Care Waste Treatment Facility located inside the Integrated Provincial Environment Center at Tinongkop, Tantangan last July 13.
Senior Environment Management Specialist Elbe Balucanag. chief of the Provincial Environment Management Office – Environment Management Division (PEMO–EMD) disclosed that said technology is capable of treating health care wastes at 50-kilogram per hour resulting to 80% volume reduction and 50% weight reduction.
PEMO targets to operate the facility in the third quarter of his year, but according to SEMS Balucanag, RAD Green Solutions Corp. will first conduct capability training to the personnel that will man the facility.
The personnel include 2 regular and 5 job order employees whose main job is the collection, treatment and disposal of health care wastes using a 1-ton insulated van as transport facility.
Earlier, the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the South Cotabato Health Care Waste Ordinance and the Manual of Operations of the Health Care Waste Treatment Facility were formulated by the Technical Working group formed by PEMO.
