South Cotabato’s Sand, Gravel and Mining (SGM) tax collection debuted at P1,275,545.00 for January 2017, the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) reported.
The substantial collection, based on the report, is attributed to Sand Gravel or Quarry which contributed to more than a million pesos out of the total collection. January every year is also the start of renewal period for SGM
With this, the province’s share in the SGM Tax Collection amounted to P 491,349.00.
Last year, the province’s SGM income reached an all-time high with P18.743,092.83 collected, the highest since the creation of PEMO in 2007. It surpassed that of 2012, which generated only P15,790,315.30.
Significant revenues were also made in 2013 and 2014 when the Provincial Treasurer’s Office collected P12,151,254.00 and P10,909,435.01, respectively.
The SGM Provincial Imposition include Sand and Gravel Tax, Mining Tax, Mining Permit Fee, Ore Transport Fee, Occupational Mining Tax, Verification Fee, Filing Fee, Permit Fee, Projection Fee, Processing Fee, Fines/Penalties/Surcharges and Miscellaneous or Delivery Receipts, among others.
