Aid for earthquake victims in Davao del sur, pours from the People of SouthCot

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato through Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) headed by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. extends help to the affected areas of Padada and Matanao, Davao del sur due to the recent 6.9 magnitude quake last December 15.

The members of the team visited again the two towns of the said before New Year (December 28) to give assistance and personally deliver the donations coming from the people of South Cotabato.

The PDRRMO office, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato and the people of the province endorsed the following items to the town of Padada with their Honorable Mayor Pedro F. Caminero, Jr.:

1. 25 pcs. Bottled water (10 Liters)
2. 75 pcs. of Canned Goods
3. 3 sacks of rice
4. 114 pairs of slippers

For the town of Matanao, with their Honorable Mayor Vincent F. Fernandez officially endorsed the following items:

1. 25 pcs. Bottled water (10 Liters)
2. 75 pcs. of Canned Goods
3. 3 sacks of rice
4. 114 pairs of slippers

As to the Bulletin tally of the Matanao MDRRMO there are 2 casualties recorder, 8,810 partially damaged homes, 1,732 totally damaged homes, 15, 352 affected families, 36, 189 affected individuals, 134 wounded/injured.
On the town of Padada, there are 3 casualties recorded, 7,421 affected individuals, 6,022 partially damaged homes, 1,130 totally damaged homes, 14 wounded/injured, 13 affected establishment, 5 affected churches, and 5 affected schools.

According to OIC-PDRRMO Rolly Doane C. Aquino it is expected that by the 3rd batch of their visit it will be centered to the severely affected community.

Food packs and others needed assistance will be prepared for the next team visit.
