AVLDA to replicate RURM in 5 SouthCot, SK areas

The Allah Valley Landscape Development Alliance (AVLDA) will replicate its Rainforestation and Upland Resource Management (RURM) project in 5 sites within the alliance coverage area.

Rogelio Acosta, newly-appointed Project Manager of AVLDA, disclosed during the recently held AVLDA Board meeting that 3 sites in South Cotabato, particularly Banga, Sto. Nino and Norala and 2 sites in Sultan Kudarat located in Tacurong City and isulan will be recipients of the program.

The RURM project is part of AVLDA’s Environment Management Program that will be implemented the whole year-round and has a capital outlay of P400,000.00 with an additional MOOE allocation of P12,000.00.

Acosta added that City and Municipal LGUs in the chosen sites together with other partners will spearhead the implementation of the project.

Meanwhile, Acosta also informed the board that they will be hiring an Information Technology and Geographical Information System (IT/GIS) Specialist to assist them in their technical undertakings.

Application for said position is now open and Acosta said he hoped to fill in the plantilla by April this year.

AVLDA’s approved budget for 2014 totaled P 3.34 million and as stated in its operation plan, has key 2 result areas, namely; Environment Management Protection and Administrative Development.

It also recently hired Vincent Panzo as the new Project Officer for Sultan Kudarat.
