Cotabato registers 87% on first week of Synchronized OPV

South Cotabato has vaccinated 99,921 0-59 months old children targeted for the round 3 of the Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio (SPKP) from January 20 – 27, 2020, this was based from the reports of the 11 local governments (LGUs) of the province compiled by the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO).

The total number of vaccinated children is equivalent to 87.06% of the total 114,774 target population, of which 95% is aimed to be reach by February 2, the last day of the synchronized mass oral polio vaccination.

As per record, the accumulated average is almost 5% higher compared to the same period last year (November 25-December 2, 20190 which only registered 82.13%.

The actual accomplishment per LGU is as follows: Banga (9,849-93.52%), Koronadal City (19,426-88.55%), Lake Sebu (8,687-79.22%), Norala (5,642-96.46%), Polomolok (15,614-81.60%), Sto. Nino (4,812-93.71%), Surallah (9,977-94.11%), Tampakan (4,456-89.89%), Tantangan (4,472-82.46%), T’boli (9,388-81.86%), Tupi (7,598-86.59%).

IPHO is currently conducting Rapid Coverage Assessment (RCA) and Mop-up operations with 4 teams deployed  province-wide, National Immunization Program (NIP) Manager Genesis Navales, RN disclosed.

The teams are likewise equipped with 1 vaccine bag each to enable them to act as vaccinator in case there is a need for them to conduct OPV, Navales added.
