Residents in the province whose homes were affected by the recent 6.8 magnitude earthquake have received shelter assistance from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Sonia Bautista personally delivered construction materials such as cement, plywood, nails, roofing, and lumber to the affected residents.
According to their records, there are 6 houses totally damaged and 31 houses partially damaged in Barangay Upper Klinan, Polomolok; 1 house partially damaged in Brgy. Maligo; 5 houses totally damaged and 9 houses partially damaged in Brgy. Landan, Polomolok; and 14 houses totally damaged and 1 house partially damaged in Brgy. Polo, Polomolok. Additionally, one house each in Barangay Acmonan and Kablon, Tupi, were totally damaged.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. ensured that aside from shelter assistance, the affected residents also received aid such as relief goods, hygiene kits, sleeping kits, and kitchen kits from the provincial government. The swift response aims to alleviate the immediate needs of those affected by the earthquake.
