February is National Arts Month

With its theme. “Ani ng Sining, Bungaa ng Galing,” the National Arts Month 2023 opened last February 3 in South Cotabato hosted by LGU Surallah.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony at Lallengke,  Surallah was draced by Vice-Governor Arthur Pingoy Jr., representing Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. and Surallah Mayor Pedro Matinong which featured the different paintings and other visual art works of South Cotabato artists.

Earlier, Vice-Governor Pungoy and Mayor Matinong expressed their support to the NAM activity which they pointed out,celebrates and promotes  the uniquw ans diverse culture of the province.

In attendance also during the opening are the Surallah Municipal Tourism Office headed by STOO Mylene Diesto, South Cotabato Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum Inot (ACTMU) headed by STOO Argie Ryan Asaria Asaria and Culture and Arts Coordinator TOO Indira Cagaanan, artists and cultural workers.

The month-long  activities of NAM 2023 are asfollows:  February 3 – Openin g Program (Mallengke – Surallah),  February 3 – 28 (Art Exhibit /Caricature/ On-Site Sketching – Mallengke, Surallah), February 11 – 12 –  Art Forum, Febriary 17 – On-the-Spot Painting Contest, February 4 & 5 – Theater/Literary Arts Workshop LGU Tantangan, February 11 &12 – Theater/Literary Arts Workshop LGU Polomolok, February 23 &24 – Theater/Literary Arts Workshop LGU Surallah,  March 4 & 5 –  Theater/Literary Arts Production Play  LGU Tboli, February 25 – Saro-an Musical Concert Centro Bart (EMR Center) City of Koronadal, February 25 & 26 – Dance Sector Folk Dance Workshop  LGU Polomolok,        February 28 – Culmination and Tubas Taliambong Awards (South Cotabato Gyasium & Cultural Center).
