In a significant boost to agricultural development, South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. commended the Department of Agriculture (DA) and its associated bureaus for distributing agricultural inputs worth more than PhP 16 million to farmers in the municipality of Tantangan. The turnover ceremony took place as part of the “6th Pabunar ti Mannalon” Farmers Day, coinciding with the town’s 63rd Foundation Anniversary and 14th Kulitangtang Festival.
The commendation came as DA-12 OIC-Regional Executive Director John B. Pascual, serving as the guest speaker, personally handed over the interventions to Mayor Timee Joy T. Gonzalez. Governor Tamayo actively participated in the event, emphasizing the administration’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the agriculture sector and improving the lives of farmers.
Governor Tamayo’s active participation underscores the local government’s collaborative efforts with national agencies to ensure the welfare and prosperity of farmers in Tantangan. The agricultural input distribution aligns with the governor’s vision of sustainable agricultural practices and economic growth in the region.
