Koronadal City—The new administration releases P7M medical and mortuary fund in just a month, according to the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office report.
The Indigent Hospitalization Fund catered at least 1500 indigent patients. At least P5M medical assistance was released in July only through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.
In a new set up, Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr. establish a one-stop assistance center at his office to provide residents with medical and mortuary assistance. A group of social workers from PSWDO evaluates and assists in the preparation of the documents.
“Kanami lang kay malamig diri kay may aircon kag may kape pa samtang nagahulat sang amon nga ginapangayo nga bulig,” one resident, who refused to be named, told this writer.
In July alone, the Tamayo administration helped out 566 people in crisis or a total of P850, 000 cash assistance was released. Under the mortuary or burial assistance, the Provincial Government catered 332 families or P1.3M cash assistance was given to bereaved families.
The report said, 12 persons received medical help through the P34, 000 cash donation.
South Cotabato helped out eight persons who were to undergo medication at the Southern Philippines Medical Center, Davao City.
“Medical Assistance is open even during weekends,” Gov. Tamayo said during a previous radio interview.
