CITY OF KORONADAL — Members of the South Cotabato Culture and Arts Council (SCCAC) were oriented about Intellectual Property (IP) Rights by Engr. Jessel Original Cofleros, a General Santos City-based IP Office staff during the recent SCCAC Quarterly Meeting held at Agua Frio Resort here. This is the 2nd Series of IP Rights orientation conducted among SCCAC members.
The IP Office of the Philippines is the lead agency mandated to implement policies on intellectual property.
Engr. Cofleros discussed the different types of Intellectual Rights particularly the definition of and difference between Copyright, Patent, Trademark and Industrial Design.
She cited the example of a “shoe,” where its name or symbol is the trademark; the design of the shoe is the industrial deisgn; the sole improvements for performance and comfort is patent\ the artwork and audio-visual creations used to publicize the shoe is copyright..
Cofleros likewise was the Resource Speaker on IP Rights – 1st Series during the National Heritage Momth celebration last ,month of May where she also oriented SCCAC members via Zoom Application.
SCCAC awarded Cofleros 2 Certificates of Appreciation in recognition of her effort.
