Lake Sebu town turns over Cultural Mapping Book to South Cotabato LGU

The municipality of Lake Sebu turned over the Volume 1 of their published book on Cultural Mapping in a simple ceremony held at Lake Sebu Municipal Gymnasium yesterday (May 30) which is also part of the culmination program of the National Heritage Month celebration this month of May.

          Lake Sebu Mayor Floro Gandam Sr. personally handed over the book to Senior Tourism Operations Officer Argie Ryan Asaria, chief of the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum ((ACTM) Unit which was witnessed by ACTM Culture & Arts Coordinator Tourism Operations Officer II Indira Cagaanan, Lake Sebu Municipal Tourism Officer Dr. Jennifer Tupas, Lake Sebu Culture & Arts Coordinator Nenita Kinan and other guests.

          Kinan disclosed that after 3 years, Volume 1 of the Cultural Mapping Book was finally finished which contained only 42 cultural icons that she presented to the audience, and further added that Volumes 2, 3 or even 4 will eventually follow after they identify more cultural artifacts in the near future.

          Cagaanan presented the rationale of the cultural mapping program and later joined in the intermission dance number performed by Tboli dancers and musicians of said town.

          th Gandam and Asaria thanked all the personalities involved in making the cultural mapping book publication a success.

          The occassion also served as launching of the book of Reden Ulo, Lake Sebu Culture & Arts Council President of the book he authored entitled “100 T’nalak Designs.”
