LCAC conducts Local Cultural Dev’t Planning

The Local Culture and Arts Council (LCAC) in partnership with the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Unit conducted a Local Cultural Development Planning (LCDP) via Virtual Zoom Application last October 7 – 8. 

Led by LCAC Co-Chairperson Architect Carlito Uy, participants include LCAC sectoral members and culture and arts stakeholders.  Edison Monalida, Project Development Officer of the national Commission for Culture and The Arts (NCCA) based in Metro Manila Manila was the Resource Speaker.

In his opening briefer, Monalida pointed out that “the LCDP is actually a Sectoral Plan.”

He expounded that LCDP should be people=oriented, visionary, developmental, relevant, promote positive Filipino Values, verifiable and compliant.

The LCDP was divided into lectures and workshops during the 2-day planning session with the active participation of the 26 attendees.

Day 1 Lectures were about “Planning for Local Cultural Development:Selecting Purpose for Local Cultural Development Plan”; “Rapid Presentation: The Planning Contexta” – Contemporary Arts Inventory, Local Cultural Resources Inventory. Workshops conducted meanwhile centered on ‘Analysis on  Existing Situation: Problem Solution Finding Analysis Model and Objective Setting – Objectives Matching : Navigating DILG MC #2008-156 and 2017-133.

Meanwe, on Day 2, a Lecture on “Completing the LCDP Matrix” with Workshop on Programs Projects Activities (PPA) Identification; and, Woralso kshops on Budgeting: Assignment of Implementing Office Prioritization; Identification of Filippino Values Being Promoted were also conducted.

LCAC and ACTM will continue to meet with Arts and Culture Coordinators and Sectoral Representatives as part of their Next Steps prior crafting their Culture aand Arts Road Map.
