LGUs OTOP, OBOP up for sale at KCC Mall

Participating LGUs in the on-going Provincial Tourism Investment, Product Display and Trade Fair are showcasing their One Town, One Product (OTOP) as well as One Barangay, One Product (OBOP) not only for display but also for sale to the general public, Tourism Operations Officer I Francisco Cerbo Jr. disclosed during the opening last September 15 at the 4th Floor of KCC Mall, City of Koronadal.

Cerbo further disclosed that products on display and for sale showcases the locally-produced but quality products of the lone city and ten towns of the province. “In this time of crisis, it is best that we support local products to help boost the local economy of the province badly hit by the CoViD-19 pandemic,” Cerbo added.

The LGUs OTOP/OBOP products varies from food to processed products, which amplifies the best of the best that the LGU has to offer to the public.

Koronadal City, the province’s capital and regional center of SOCCSKSARGEN, listed their famous delicacy Biscocho de Marbel as their OTOP, while their OBOP ranges from condiments such as Alamang, Sinamak, Bagoong, Datok and Coco Sugar.

Tboli and Lake Sebu, home of  the indigenous Tboli tribe, have similarities as they showcase their famous  tnalak cloth, hand-woven accessories, beads, tubaw, malong, brass casting which are famous pasalubong products of visitors.  Tboli and Lake Sebu’s OBOP include their famous piaya and tilapia, respectively, but the latter is not available at the mall. Other products on display are mamon, coffee, ginamos and pilit rice.

Likewise, Norala and Sto. Nino, like Tboli and Lake Sebu showcased Rice as their OTOp as the rice granary of the province, but not only limited to white rice but also to the nutritious and organic brown and black rice varieties. Their food products for sale are nata de coco, juice, peanut butter, fish cracker, banana chips, potato chips, sitsaron, organic baye-baye powder, Bagoong, Sinamakan and paper bag.

Surallah, meanwhile, just like Sto. Nino and Norala, bannered their organic rice as their OTOP with organic vegetables and honey as their OBOP.

Banga, once dubbed the province’s corn capital, now have cassava as their OTOP with mushroom, pickles, chili sauce, durian jam, sitsaron, cookies, pastillas, turmeric and ointment as their OBOP.

Tantangan, proudly displayed their different pottery and ceramic wares as their banner OTOP with bamboo products, mango fruit and their famous galapong kakanin as OBOP.

Tampakan showcased their coffee as OTOP with other OBOP variety products such as taro chips, polvoron, hinalang sinamak and Nito weaving.

Tupi topped Cacao as their OTOP with processed products such as tablea, coffee, coco sugar, Virgin Coconut Oil, jams and jellies as their OBOP.

The different products of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) of the South Cotabato Rehabilitation and Detention Center (SCRDC) reminds us that Christmas season is near with colorful Parol (Lantern) for sale. Other products are their famous alkansiya (coin bank), picture frame especially The Last Supper. SOCOTECO’s colorful hand-crafted Eco-bags are also on display and for sale to the public.
