MILCO foundation donates 100M for construction of school buildings in SoCot

KORONADAL CITY- In a significant stride towards enhancing education infrastructure in South Cotabato, the Milco Foundation has extended a generous donation of 100 million pesos for the construction of additional 80 classroom buildings across the province. This humanitarian gesture is a manifestation of a strong will of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. to provide quality, accessible, and free education in the province.

The Milco Foundation, driven by a noble vision of social responsibility, has earmarked this substantial sum to aid marginalized communities in dire need of infrastructure development, particularly in the realm of education.

According to Engr. Lloyd Esparagosa, the Provincial Engineer of South Cotabato, the planned construction of 80 classroom buildings will be strategically allocated to various local government units within the province. Emphasis will be placed on addressing the pressing needs of remote areas where educational facilities are scarce.

Highlighting the urgency of the initiative, Esparagosa pointed out the current plight of students who are forced to conduct classes in makeshift shelters, including rudimentary huts and vacant spaces. The provision of proper classroom buildings is poised to uplift the learning environment and ensure the safety and comfort of students and educators alike.

Governor Tamayo’s visionary leadership is further exemplified by his pilot program for free education, which aims to eradicate barriers to schooling and empower every youth in South Cotabato to pursue their educational aspirations unhindered. The Milco Foundation’s contribution aligns seamlessly with this noble endeavor, solidifying the commitment to educational excellence and inclusivity within the province.

As construction commences on these much-needed classroom buildings, the collective efforts of government agencies, private entities, and community stakeholders stand as a testament to the unwavering dedication towards fostering a brighter future for the youth of South Cotabato.
