CITY OF KORONADAL — Some 16 musicians joined the “Kemnahe Lingon” (T’boli word which means “I Dream of Songs”) Song-writing Workshop spearheaded by the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Promotions and Development Unit last August 11 – 12 here at Villa Princessita.
Tourism Operations Officer I Argie Ryan Asaria disclosed that the workshop was a prelude to the Song-writing Competition which will be launch by ACTM this September in celebration of the National Tourism Month.
Resource Speakers of the 2–day workshop were renowned local musicians Perlyn Joy Ladot-Enriquez and Marvin Blue Corpus.
Participants started the first workshop day by composing a song about “cellphone“ as a refresher to the song that they will compose and sing during the performance day.
Enriquez also conducted Music Therapy on the second workshop day which the participants found as “relaxing or refreshing,” after which the Culmination Program ensued in the afternoon.
Cyril Forro, musician from Saravia, this city, said that the best adjective that described the workshop is “beautiful,” – adding that it is a beautiful move of the province in promoting music.
A select group of participants performed the songs that they composed during the workshop to showcase their output during the culmination program.
