Koronadal City—Governor Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr. ensures free education for all across public schools in South Cotabato, freeing the burden of parents, who are pushed to pay extra fees for the salary of janitors, watchmen and security personnel by shouldering their payment through the Special Education Fund (SEF).
In an orientation earlier this morning at the Capitol’s covered court, he said the move is to lessen the out of pocket fees of parents in sending their children to school. PTA collects fees intended for the salaries of the utility men employed in the school premises.
“The allocated fund will go directly to the principal to ensure that the salaries of the utility are no longer a PTA concern,” Tamayo said.
The governor said that the PTA subsidy does not only help the students pay for their school obligations but also help boost enrolment and reduce dropout rates due to the inability of parents to pay school contributions.
“Wala sang politika diri because wala ako sang gintanggal sa inyo bangod ginhatag ko na sa principal ang pagdecide. Ginapinsar ko man nga daku na ang trust sa inyo sang eskwelahan rason nga wala ko na ini gintandog pa,” Tamayo said.
The Provincial Government presented the guidelines expected of them to do. The requirements are also emphasized to facilitate their salaries.
