The Provincial Population Office has taken a significant step in advancing its advocacies by conducting the “Usapang Bagong Maginoo” session at Barangay Upper Klinan, Polomolok. The session, which saw the active participation of 16 male participants and fathers, aimed to foster greater male involvement in Family Planning and Maternal and Child Health (FP-MCH).
The initiative, financially supported by the Municipality of Polomolok and the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Upper Klinan, is part of a broader effort to encourage men to take a proactive role in family health matters. The “Usapang Bagong Maginoo” series specifically targets men, emphasizing their crucial role in family planning and the overall well-being of mothers and children.
By engaging men in these discussions, the Provincial Population Office hopes to break traditional gender norms and promote a more inclusive approach to family health. The session covered essential topics related to family planning methods, the importance of shared responsibility in maternal and child health, and practical ways fathers can support their partners during pregnancy and child-rearing.
This initiative is a testament to the collaborative efforts between local government units and the community in promoting health education and fostering a supportive environment for families. The Provincial Population Office plans to continue these sessions, aiming to reach more communities and further integrate male participation in family health programs.
