Prov’l Engrs Office completes P49M Infra Projects in 6 months

Some 27 infrastructure projects with a total cost of P49,102,745.37 were completed province-wide from January to June this year, the Provincial Engineers Office (PEO) reported.

Engr. Vicente Ayongao, Chief of PEO’s Construction and Maintenance Division disclosed in the report that the development projects completed within the 6-month period consisted mainly of road projects, concrete lined canals, gym and stage, and foot and hanging bridges.

Provincial road projects completed include Completion of El Nonok Road, Banga, Concreting of Junction National Highway – Lamian Road, Surallah; Rehabilitation of Junction National Highway-New Iloilo-Cabuling Road, Tantangan; Upgrading of Lamcaliaf – Cannery Road, Polomolok and National Highway – El Nonok – Rang-ay Road, Banga and Improvement of Moloy – Tapok Road, Surallah.

Likewise, four (4) concrete lined canal projects were finished such as the Construction of Concrete Lined Canal along Junction National Highway Cebuano-Provincial Road in Tupi and Lugan (Habitat) Lined Canal in T’boli, Completion of Lined Canal along Sinolon – T’boli, and Installation of Embankment Protection and Lined Canal along Bridge Approach of Kipalbig Bridge, Tampakan.

Projects implemented in barangays and schools meanwhile include Construction of 2 Barangay Stage in Tinongkop and Bukay Pait, all in Tantangan; Construction of 5-span Gym and Stage at KCES 1, Koronadal City; Construction of Mini-Gym in Tasiman, Lake Sebu; Construction of Barangay Stage in Improgo, Banga; Construction of Barangay Stage inPanay, Sto. Nino; Completion of Lamian National High School Gym, Surallah;and, Completion of Gym and Stage at Sto. Nino National High School, Sto. Nino.

Two (2) bridges were repaired and constructed particularly the Talahik Foot Bridge inSurallah and Klinan 6 Hanging Bridge Abutment “B” Protection in Polomolok, respectively.

Enhancement of provincial offices and facilities located in Koronadal City to further improve its client service were also part of the accomplished projects and that include the Improvement of Jail Facilities (Dalawan Function Room), payment for labor cost for the construction of 1-room ALS Building and Stockroom at the South Cotabato Rehabilitation and Detention Center and the Upgrading of Cash Receipts and Cash Disbursement Center of at Provincial Treasurers Office (Finance Building).

In the upper valley, the projects completed were the refurbishing of Supply Office and 2 Ward Rooms of Patient at Norala District Hospital (Norala), refurbishing of SUNAS Old Dormitory as Bamboo Hub (Surallah) and payment of labor cost for the construction of Conference Hall of Animal Production and Processing Center in Tantangan.

Meanwhile as of presstime, PEO has still on-going projects being implemented province-wide in the amount of P110,208,364.19.
