Koronadal City—The Provincial Government of South Cotabato turned over 22 sewing machines to disadvantaged women to start-up a livelihood.
Cora Obenieta, Social worker III, said the initiative will support members of the women and solo parent sector of South Cotabato to rediscover practical art that would give source of income.
“The budget came from the 2021 supplemental budget of the office,” she shared.
Obenieta underscored that PSWDO had been actively partnering with the sectoral groups to promote government programs across in the province.
“We know that this important project will help the displaced persons in the province because of pandemic,” she added.
A turn-over ceremony, led by PSWDO Officer-in-Charge Sonia bautista, was held at the South Cotabato Provincial Capitol Monday. Representatives of the Women Federation accepted the equipment.
