SoCot concentrates on CATCH-UP program for 17 ELCAC areas

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato is directing its efforts towards implementing programs and interventions in 17 areas identified as ELCAC (End Local Communist Armed Conflict) through the South Cotabato Convergence Approach for Transformation and Change – Unification Program, also known as CATCH-UP.

Community Affairs Officer IV and Convergence Team Leader Maria Ana Uy stated that these 17 ELCAC areas are situated within the town of T’boli.

“These 17 ELCAC areas are almost all in the town of T’boli,” Uy stated.

Uy emphasized that they have collaborated with T’boli Mayor Keo dale Tuan to discuss and execute suitable programs in the designated areas.

The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) adopts a comprehensive approach to achieve inclusive and sustainable development in conflict-affected areas.

It has been confirmed that the convergence strategy is currently being rolled out in the sitios and puroks to effectively address the concerns of the local residents.
