Koronadal City, South Cotabato – The Provincial Government of South Cotabato (PGSC) kicked off its distribution of relief goods to the locked down puroks and barangays in the City of Koronadal on September 28, 2020.
This was in response to the urgent need of the affected residents of the city after the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Koronadal declared a seven-day lockdown last September 27 following the surge of COVID-19 confirmed cases in certain puroks in Barangay Sto. Nino and Barangay Sta. Cruz, Koronadal City.
More than six thousand (6,000) family food packs were distributed to the following puroks: Bagong Silang, Masipag, Morillo, Agan East, San Antonio, Happy Living, Yellowbell, Agan Homes, Roamsciville, Ramos, Matibay, Nursery, Tuburan, and Hillside.
The barangay captains expressed their gratitude to Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr for the fast and active response to their requests. The two-day distribution was led by the Barangay Affairs Unit (BAU) of the PGSC, headed by Mr. Dennis C. Dignadice.
According to Dignadice, they opted to personally deliver the relief goods to the respective purok leaders within two (2) days in order for them to delegate the job to more persons and volunteers, and have the work done at the earliest possible time.
The recipients of such food packs also showed their appreciation to the PGSC by posting on their social media accounts the photos of the relief goods that they have received.
