South Cotabato annex hospital to complete within 365 days

Koronadal City—Provincial officials of South Cotabato gathered in a groundbreaking ceremony of the P200M-worth Provincial Hospital Extension building at the nearby Protech Center Friday.

Dr. Conrado Brana, Chief of Hospitals, confirmed the 320-day construction of the proposed four-story building.

“Originally, the contractors lobbied its two years construction, but Gov. Tamayo requested them to finish the construction at the end of 2023,” Brana said.

The hospital extension will occupy more rooms in the new building. However, Brana said the hospital management maintains the 200-bed capacity even after the completion of the annex building.

“The hospital received as high as 400 patients on a regular day, but with the construction of the extension building, we can provide more rooms for our patients. Unlike today, the patients are overflowing because rooms are limited,” Brana explained.

Through the efforts of Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr., South Cotabato received an additional P200M from PAGCOR for the construction of the hospital annex building.
