In a concerted effort to strengthen community resilience and health preparedness, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, through the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), is set to conduct a two-day Basic First-Aid Training for First Aid and Health Responders in Convergence Areas. The training is scheduled for August 15-16, 2024, and is a key component of the Convergence Program for Poverty Reduction, which seeks to address poverty at the grassroots level, targeting one sitio at a time.
The training will be held in two batches and will provide participants with critical skills in disaster response, first-aid procedures, and climate change adaptation. The program will include hands-on simulations, drills, discussions, and structured learning activities designed to prepare responders for real-life emergencies and enhance their ability to protect and assist their communities.
PDRRMO South Cotabato will spearhead the training, ensuring that local responders are equipped to handle health emergencies and disaster situations effectively. This initiative highlights the Provincial Government’s commitment to reducing vulnerability and increasing the capacity of communities, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
By empowering local health responders through this comprehensive training, South Cotabato continues to prioritize safety, health, and resilience as integral parts of its poverty reduction strategy, demonstrating its dedication to the well-being of its citizens.
