South Cotabato extends aid to Capiz province amid widespread flooding

In response to the extensive flooding caused by relentless rains in the past week, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato swiftly aids the province of Capiz.

The affected areas in Capiz compelled many residents to seek refuge in evacuation centers established by Local Government Units to ensure their safety during ongoing clearing operations. In light of this, Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. directed the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to deliver aid to the said province.

OIC-PDRRMO Rolly Doane C. Aquino personally led the distribution, delivering a thousand food packs and a thousand hygiene kits to the affected residents. Capiz Governor Atty. Fredenil Castro expressed gratitude for the timely assistance from the South Cotabato Provincial Government, emphasizing the personal delivery to their area.

It is noteworthy that the aid from South Cotabato reached Capiz within 72 hours, demonstrating the swift and efficient response of the provincial government. Aquino further clarified that even before extending aid to Capiz, they ensured that all residents in South Cotabato affected by the recent earthquake received a complete set of assistance, including relief goods, hygiene kits, sleeping kits, kitchen kits, and shelter assistance.
