Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. launched the much-anticipated 58th Foundation Anniversary and 25th T’nalak Festival in a grand ceremony that brought together officials, dignitaries, and the vibrant community of South Cotabato. The event, graced by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan led by Vice Governor Arthur Y. Pingoy, Jr., marked a significant milestone in the province’s history and cultural heritage.
The festivities commenced with solemnity and splendor as the official program opened with a prayer led by Rosie Sula, a National Living Treasure for Tboli Chanting, through an audiovisual presentation. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as the marching of colors took center stage, featuring Committee Heads, Department Heads, Honorary Chairs, and Governor Tamayo himself. Displaying flaglets adorned with this year’s color palette, participants showcased the rich array of colors symbolizing the essence of South Cotabato’s culture and identity.
Each color holds significance, Blue reflecting elements of the Blaan and Tboli community’s traditional attire and embodying the province’s heritage and diversity, while Yellow symbolizes faith and joy. Red embodies the blood of ancestors, green signifies the lush landscape, and cream reflects diverse skin tones. Lavender, the color of royalty and ambition, encapsulates the province’s motto, “South Cotabato Angat ka sa Lahat”
Amidst the jubilant atmosphere, all employees of South Cotabato and the dedicated individuals behind the celebration pledged their unwavering commitment to organizing memorable and meaningful festivities that pay homage to the province’s traditions and ancestors.
Addressing the gathering, festival director Rudy S. Jimenea delivered an impassioned message, inviting everyone to partake in the Silver Anniversary of the T’nalak Festival under the theme: “Cultural Brilliance: Weaving Tradition, Honoring Roots, Celebrating Legacies.” He paid tribute to the five Gawad Manlilikha ng Bayan Awardees, whose exceptional craftsmanship has not only garnered recognition for South Cotabato but has also enriched the province’s cultural heritage. Their mastery and dedication serve as an inspiration to the next generation, shaping the community’s identity and fostering pride.
As the festival embarks on this journey of celebration, Jimenea urged everyone to honor the contributions of these artisans and uphold the intricate tapestry of cultural heritage that defines South Cotabato. With anticipation building, he encouraged all to join in the festivities and make this milestone truly unforgettable.
