South Cotabato Recyclable Waste Fair all set and ready

CITY OF KORONADAL — The South Cotabato Recyclable Waste Fair slated on November 18 at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center, this city, is all set and ready, Supervising Environment Management Specialist Elbe Balucanag of the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) disclosed.

With the theme, “Rise Up: Moving Beyond Climate Talk to Climate Action, ” SEMS Balucanag stressed that it “promotes action to address climate change and its effects to our environment and likewise focuses on the relationship of clean air and respiratory health.”

The whole-day activity includes an Environmental Forum, Recycled/Upcycled Product Exhibit, Buying ang Selling of Recyclables/Waste Papers and the 2022 Inter-Barangay Clean & Green Contest Awarding Ceremony.

List of Speakers during the forum are Secretary Roberto Borje (Vice-Chairman, Climate Change Commission), Rolly Doane Aquino (OIC, PDRRMO South Cotabato), Engr. Orlando Batallones(General Manager, Bio-Life Sciences Solutions) and April Patricia Fontanilla (AQMU, DENR-EMB 12).

An open forum will ensued after the Environmental Forum which will be presided over by Atty. Marnito Cosep, Provincial Legal Officer.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing is also one of the highlights of the activity between Bio-Tech Farms, Inc. represented by Erwin Saballa (Chief Operations Officer) and the Provincial League of of Local Environment & Natural Resources Officers (PLLENRO) headed by its President MENRO Eilleen Estrada of Tampakan of Tampakan

An Environmental Quiz Bee will jumpdtsrt the afternoon session facilitated by Kenneth Auditor of DENR-EMB 12 with PEMO staff as Facilitators/Tabulators.

Capping the South Cotabato Recyclable Waste Fair is the Awarding Ceremony of the Inter-Barangay Clean & Green Contest and Best in Community Garden.

Recognition of Environment Partners will be given also to the Best in Quarry Management Practice, Most Regulated Mining Operation and Outstanding Support to Environmental Programs.

Clean and Green Contest Evaluators and Judges of the Recycled/Uncycled Products Showcase will likewise be recognized.

Expected attendees during the South Cotabato Recyclable Waste Fair are Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., Vice-Governor Arthur Pingoy Jr, 1st Disreict Congresman Isidro Lumayag, 2nd Disrict Congressman Peter Miguel, BM Alan Ines, SP Chair on Environment BM Rolando Malabuyoc, Liga ng Mga Barangay – South Cotabato President, Atty.
