SouthCot allocates Php31.95 million to hire 470 additional public school workers

The provincial government of South Cotabato has allocated at least Php31.95 million to shoulder the salaries, wages, and honorariums of 470 workforces in public schools.
This is in support of the “ No collection Policy “ of the Department of Education in South Cotabato so that no fees will be collected from their PTCA associations.
During the renewal of contracts held early today, Governor Tamayo reiterates that education is one of his top priorities in the province. In return, he urges these workers to ensure children are safe inside the schools and are also given quality education.
Out of the funds, Php8.57 million was allocated for the 185 Provincial School Board and Child Development teachers, coming from the Special Education Fund (SEF) of the province.
Php23.38 million was also allocated for the Janitorial and Security Services of these public schools. coming from the Assistance to Public Education Program.
At least 211 public schools will benefit from this program coming from the ten towns under the DepEd South Cotabato Division.
These include 3 schools in Polomolok , 7 in Sto. Nino, 25 in Norala, 30 in Banga, 22 in Tupi, 27 in Tboli, 48 in Lake Sebu, 5 in Tampakan, 23 in Surallah and 21 in Tantangan.
Governor Tamayo also ensures the Financial assistance to public schools will also continue such as the payment of Php500 for school fees of each indigent recipients both in the elementary and high school students in public schools.
This year, the provincial government has allocated another Php38 million for the said program.
