The Provincial Government of South Cotabato expressed its gratitude to the Department of Agriculture Region 12 for the continued support it extends to the South Cotabato farmers.
During the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held today, the DA-12 headed by Field Operations Chief Zaldy Boloron, turns over the ceremonial key of the one (1) unit Hauling Truck worth Php2 million as the newest addition to the post-harvest facilities given under the corn program.
Said facility is part of the Php22.194 million total outsourced from the agriculture department under its Mechanization program.
The turnover ceremony was also attended by Ms. May Ann G. Delangga, APCO-South Cotabato; Abas Abdullah, Corn Focal Person, BM Noel Escobillo, Provincial Administrator Atty. Renette B. Bergado and Provincial Agriculturist Raul A. Teves and Mr. Gregory Nicdao.
Other interventions earlier availed by the province include the following; one (1) unit corn tractor, Php3.5 million; ten (10) units hand tractor, Php1.365 million; ten (10) units rice thresher, Php1. 3 million; ten (10) units rice transplanter, PhpPhp3.6 million; four (4) units Shallow Tube Wells, Php420k; 20 units Seed Spreader, Php1.4 million.
Meanwhile, the province is set to avail additional facilities such as 15 units Rice Transplanter, Php2.85 million; ten (10) units Seed Spreader, Php748k; one (1) unit Incubator, Php39k.
Under the High-Value Commercial Crop (HVCC) program, the Memorandum of Agreement were already done for the following items: 1,000 pcs crates, Php475k; 21,320 hills of cacao, Php1.385 million; 8,000m HDPE pipes, Php800k; 5 units Pole Runner, Php100k; two (2 ) units mini chainsaw, Php60k; eight (8) units UV Sheets, Php240k; 70 sets garden tools, Php490k.
For the corn program, the province is also set to avail 250 bags of hybrid seeds worth Php1.25 million.
Provincial Agriculturist Raul A. Teves said, despite the many challenges our farmers are facing, they should be grateful for the many assistance the agriculture department extends.

Aside from this assistance, Teves added that the province also implements other programs which farmers can also avail themselves.
These include the Pant Now Pay Later (PNPL) Program for fruit trees, Free Farm Tractor Services, Palay Support Fund, among others.
Teves also happily announced that during the third quarter of this year, farmers can also avail of free hito and tilalia fingerlings as the Php1.5 million hatchery funded by the Bureau of Fishery and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).
