Surallah celebrates 2nd Surbe’Tube fest

In line with the 56th Founding anniversary of the municipality of Surallah, it will also celebrate the 2nd Surbe’Tube festival starting June 20-24, 2019 with the theme “Integrating Cultural sensitivity in building a modern society”.
Festival Chairperson Dr. Niel Crespo said this year’s celebration has an allocation of at least Php6 million.
The 5-day activity will be highlighted by various activities such as civil-military parade, trade fair, drum and lyre competition, farmer’s day, Kasalan ng Bayan, employees night, IP Day off-road challenge and, Tree growing festival and Hari ng Kalsada, among others.
On June 24, during the culmination day the activity will start with an ecumenical service and anniversary program.
The highlight of the activity will be the 2nd SurbeTube fest Balsa contest which will be participated in by the town’s 17 barangays.
Other activities during the days include barangayan, motor trail, folk dance contest. A fireworks display will be held in the evening to signal the end of the program. At least Php150k was allocated for said event.
Crespo also said a nightly band is prepared to the whole duration of the event to entertain spectators and visitors.
Mayor Antonio Bendita said the conduct of festivities such as this will boost the tourism potential of the town considering that it is not endowed with natural resources such as falls and lakes.
