Surallah sets to celebrate month-long Christmas festival

With the theme: ” One love, One Surallah, One Kasadya Christmas,” the municipality of Surallah will once again celebrate its month-long Kasadya Christmas Festival starting December 1-30, 2019.
This year, the municipality of Surallah has prepared various activities to bring Christmas spirit to its constituents.
Dubbed as the Christmas Capital of South Cotabato, Surallah Mayor Antonio Bendita said, he is happy other local government units are also making ways to decorate their own municipalities.
Just recently, the municipality of Tampakan has put up its 100-feet Recyclable Christmas tree, followed by the 120-ft Christmas tree of Koronadal City.
“I hope other towns will follow also, and we are happy we served as the model.”
Bendita said, Surallah is not endowed with natural tourist attractions just like the other towns in the province, that is why they are making ways to make them noticed by bringing colorful activities such as the Christmas festival.
This year, Surallah has allotted at least Php8.2 million for the monthlong festivities.
Highlights of the shows include the Zumba Color Race and the Lighting of the Christmas Structures and Fireworks Display during the Opening program on December 1 starting 3 pm; Film viewing, Nighly sponsorships; The Voice Kids and teens contest; Amazing Queen 2019, Mutya ng Surallah, Gymnastics Weaver Night; and the Fireworks Display with celebrity Band during its culmination program on December 30.
Bendita assures the safety of the constituents and the visitors as security plans were put in place.
“I welcome all visitors and spectators to witness our shows on a daily basis,” Bendita said.
