KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO- The municipality of Tupi celebrated a remarkable victory as it was crowned champion in the Bahay Kubo with Product Display Competition, one of the major highlights of the T’nalak Festival. With its outstanding showcase of the beauty and richness of their local culture, Tupi took home the grand prize of P210,000.
Norala followed closely in second place, winning P150,000, while Surallah secured third place with a prize of P130,000. Koronadal City finished fourth with a cash prize of P110,000, and Tantangan landed in fifth place, receiving P90,000. Other participants were awarded consolation prizes of P50,000 each, in recognition of their participation and creative efforts.
Adding to the excitement, the municipality of Banga won in the special categories, claiming the “Most Loved” title with 24,000 reactions and “Most Shared” with an impressive 273,000 shares on social media, reflecting the overwhelming support from netizens.
The Bahay Kubo with Product Display Competition is one of the most anticipated attractions during the T’nalak Festival, drawing not only local residents but also tourists. Each “bahay kubo” (nipa hut) showcases the pride of each town, from traditional crops to modern products, embodying the spirit of their community.
The Provincial Agriculture Office spearheads the competition, highlighting the importance of agriculture and the unique products of each locality.
